Annan Lecture

In 2006, SSHoP instituted an additional series of lectures. Under the title, 'The Annan Lectures' they are given each spring at The Mitchell Library in Glasgow and deal with aspects of the history of Scottish photography. The inaugural lecture in 2006 was given by William Buchanan and was, appropriately, about Thomas and James Craig Annan. In 2007, Sara Stevenson's talk was entitled The Doctor, the Lady, and the Man who printed his own money. The 2008 lecture was on the Glasgow photographer Oscar Marzaroli, while in 2009, Bruce Peter and Roisin Reilly's subject was the Glasgow shipyards photographer J E K Smith. In 2010, Joe Mulholland spoke about his former Glasgow neighbour, the Canadian photographer Margaret Watkins. In 2011, John Hume talked about the unknown works photographers who worked in and for Scottish industrial firms.
